Help Out NY is a free and confidential support service for New York residents concerned about the extreme or violent behavior of a friend, peer, or loved one. If you’re worried about someone in your life and not sure what to do, we’re here to help out.

Who we are

Help Out NY is staffed by licensed mental health professionals with experience in violence prevention, de-escalation, and supporting people navigating difficult situations.

When you contact us, trained mental health professionals will respond with resources and support for your situation. It’s okay if you’re unsure what to do or how to help; we’ll help you understand your options and won’t judge.

We believe that everyone should have access to mental health care and support

Our services are free and offered without judgment, regardless of your background, circumstances, or beliefs.

We know how hard it is to support others in your life who are struggling, whether it be a friend, family member, or student. We're here to guide you through the process of seeking professional help so you don't have to go through this alone.
